When It Comes To Kids, Staff Matters MOST
Enormous attention is given to the selection, training and supervision of Skylemar’s counseling staff. The camper-to-counselor ratio of 2:1 is unsurpassed. The majority of staff have been members of the Skylemar family for many years. Those considered for new positions have expertise in specific activities, and most importantly, they must prove that they are considered to be a role model for children.
Counselors are consistently trained before the season, as well as throughout the summer. Directors Arleen and Shep, along with the experienced Senior Staff, work directly with counselors, as well as the campers under their care. Skylemar directors “keep their finger on the pulse” of camp and know each child personally.
